Course organised by Levels Training Centre, Limassol, Cyprus.
We live in a society where children are immersed as consumers – be it in goods, electronic technologies, social networks, education, or attention. Generation Alpha (born between 2010 and 2020) is currently entering or already participating in the educational system, possessing distinctly different needs, deficits, and strengths compared to their predecessors. These are the offspring of technology and intense emotions, and oddly enough, researchers suggest that Generation Alpha experiences less freedom and opportunities for risk-taking.
It’s precisely this generation that requires the most space for creation, expression, and exploration of their own and others’ emotions. They need a safe environment to grapple with challenges and build confidence beyond the digital realm. This is where the significance of creative writing unfolds – offering a pathway to self-awareness, artistic expression, and empathetic understanding. Especially, writing within a community can enhance students’ social and emotional skills, positively influencing their personal and academic lives.
This course is designed to empower educators with the skills and techniques to guide students aged 8-15 in crafting compelling and imaginative stories. The course emphasizes a dynamic approach, combining interactive workshops, creative games, meetings, personal learning experiences.
Upon completing this course, teachers will not only possess the tools to nurture their students’ creative writing skills but will also understand the profound impact that these skills can have on students’ academic journeys and future lives. By addressing challenges and emphasizing the importance of creative writing, educators will play a crucial role in shaping students into effective communicators, critical thinkers, and imaginative problem-solvers.
